CO 737 W/ Winglets: How Many Are They At?

Thu Sep 30, 2004 4:58 am

I have noticed that the CO 737W are in San Francisco all the time. I'm staring at one as I type. How many do they have so far? 3-4 time I have seen 2 of them here at the same time.

Let's see.... Ships 278,281,283,284,285,286,287,289,290... That makes nine. Ship 288 is in MCO having surgery now. Ships 279,280,282 will follow one at a time (not necessarily in that order). When delivered, Ships 291,292 will be similarly equipped before they enter service. That totals the 15 initially planned to have the Winglets. It's almost a certainly that others will be added later. When and how many remains to be determined.

Make that ten. Ship 288 comes out of the shop tomorrow while 279 goes in.

Saw 3 Thursday at IAH within 30 mins of eachother. One landing 26L, the other two on 27 over Lee Road. Beautiful!

Anyone heard any comments whether CO likes the performance of the augmented 737's?
Direct KNOBS, maintain 2700' until established on the localizer, cleared ILS runway 26 left approach.
