Fri Oct 01, 2004 7:26 am

Hi everybody
I've seen this photo on MyAviation.net today:

Is now IB offering PTVs in tourist class? I know these planes come from Singapore Airlines - And they actually offer this service in econommy class-, but note the seats are blue with the wavy yellow lines tipically IB's. Does anybody know if the screens work or they are just there in order to not spend money in new seats?
thank you,
Regards
Emilio

It would make sense to leave the PVTs if they are already on a leased airplane, than to take them out. The seats themselves can be easily reupholstered.
The PVTs are there, I just hope that something is shown on them! If so, lucky passengers to Cuba and the Canaries, as other Iberia flights, even on the A340-600s have no such entertainment.

IberiaN:

I would assume that it is just as Summa767 states....that it most likely is the Singapore Airlines seat that has been reapholstered.

The new A346 with the new configuration will be coming to JFK on October 8th and I plan to go there to get some pics of the new Business/FIrst so I will check out the economy class seats to see if they have PTV's or not. I'll let you guys know!

Hey

i really doubt that the new A346 will be equieped with PTVs in Econamy. Nothing was mentchoined, and when i asked my pitliot friend that flies for Iberia he said that they didnt plan to put PTVs in for some time.

When does the new A346 get delivered(question mark) sorry cant find it on the spanish key pad!!

Just for the record, unless IB has done a rush, hush refit (hehe), then Economy Class is PTV-less:

The A346 that I am talking about is the one coming in direct from Airbus within the next few days with the new configuration. The current A346's have not been reconfigured yet.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Aha - I didn't realise there was the possibility of Iberia having immediately new-build aircraft fitted with PTVs - here's hoping  Big grin

There is always hope! LOL I doubt that they will have PTV's since I have not heard anything...but they did say with the introduction of the new Business/First that there would be some improvements done to economy class. Kind of vague language....but I will let you know!

Hey A340600 are you sure that the New A346 is flying on October 8 to JFK??

if it is please try to post the photos on this post as soon as you download them on a comp!! please thanks!

I find it strange that Iberia has not mentchioned it on there website.

In the 744 photo, it only looks like the left-hand side of the cabin is TV-less, because more or less all you can see is the rearward-facing cabin crew jumpseat (which is presumably immediately forward of the L1 door), then the last row of economy seating immediately in front of it. The last row of economy doesn't have PTVs installed as there'd be no-one sitting behind them to watch them  Smile
