Also you should remember that MEA
/AF will increase capacity as well with the A321 flight being upgraded to A330 when MEA
gets the 4th A330. I'm sure that Star will have some restrictions regarding the number of flights they operate on the route.
On the other hand, it is said that Star will not directly compete with MEA
/AF but will be targetting those passengers who fly the route with other airlines (mostly European) via their hubs. Examples are Cyprus, Olympic, Malev and all others that offer cheaper alternatives to MEA
/AF. This is what the Star CEO has said in his statement.
Onle last thing, MEA
faces competetion on many routes but has performed beyond all expectations. So no worries.
