It looks good to me! More user-friendly than the old version. I hope this means that more people will book their flights through the site driving AM's costs down!
Next flights: MEX-LAX AM 738, LAX-PVG DL 77L, SHA-PEK CA 789, PEK-PVG CA A332, PVG-ORD MU 77W, ORD-MEX AM 738

Looks almost identical to Continental's website... I'm wondering if CO joining Skyteam gave them the opportunity to run the same software??

That's probably true. In any case, it is good that all the sites of the members of one alliance have a similar look-and-feel so as to facilitate the use by customers of other airlines of the same alliance.

In connection with this issue, do you think that at some point it will be possible to book flights and purchase e-tickets through skyteam.com, staralliance.com and oneworld.com?

Well, AEROMEXICO web site is running on JSP, CO web site on ASP.

CO web site is MS IIS
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0
Date: Fri, 01 Oct 2004 16:44:55 GMT
Connection: Keep-Alive
Content-Length: 52485
Content-Type: text/html

Aero Mexico web site (reservations.aeromexico.com) is
HTTP/1.0 200 OK
Date: Fri, 01 Oct 2004 16:46:27 GMT
Server: WebLogic Server 7.0 SP4 Tue Aug 12 11:22:26 PDT 2003 284033
Content-Type: text/html

So, the may look similar, but it's not the same technology.

It is definitely more user friendly than the cumbersome version they had before. However, it is not A.net user friendly, as they don't have any history, pictures, route maps, and other stuff that we afficionados are interested in seeing. They are also not updated to the minute, as they don't yet have the new Embraer's listed in their fleet information page.

It's really dumb that they put "select your language" in spanish in a tiny scroll down thing on the top right corner. How is a non-spanish-speaking person supppose to change the language? They should first put a page that asks for your language first.

Sorry fellows, I do not like it...

...I felt really cold as I was desperately waiting for some kind of nice intro or beautiful aircraft image or lady cabin staff smile to welcome me and invite me to explore around... but nothing, just numbers, letters and a very unfriendly layout !

... yes, we still have to learn a lot from those South East Asian partners...
...well,... guess I am just too spoiled and perhaps a little bit old fashioned too !

One word: Nice, I just went here two nights ago and the site was the old piece of trash. Good job!

Nice site, but as XA744 mentioned it is a bit impersonal... lacks a little bit of the warmth the other site had. Even that it is a nice improvement from the old-less-practical site.

I just wonder... Why is the DC-9 in the fleet data and not the Embraer 145?

Definetly looks better,, but I don`t thik it is more useful.. It has the same options, just with a different presentation.. I still cannot make reservations from all mexican cities to all aeromexico/skyteam destinations.. I still have to purchase tickets only with credit cards issued in Mexico (Visa and Mastercard), and issued in Mexico and USA if you pay with AMEX.. So people outside Mexico and USA, still cannot buy e-tickets... etc, etc, etc..
The only thing is that now you can save your profile, so you can make reservations faster...
Well that is my opinion..

I tried to buy a tkt SCL-MEX-SCL and I couldn't.
The site is useless... or it's me getting useless??? (surely a mix of both)

Now seriously, I don't like those sites where you only can but tkts from the origin country, or those that don't give you the fare after all the proceedure if you won't bye.

Nice, but not very well thought.

Hi Arcano

I was told that in the near future there will be an aeromexico.com france, aeromexico.com spain, aeromexico.com brasil, aeromexico.com chile, aeromexico.com perú, that will give you the opportunity to buy tkts originating in those countries....just give them some time. One page at a time.

They are also expanding their etkt´s....you can now get an etkt to and from SAO, you will soon have the same for LIM,SCL, MAD and PAR.

It´s just time.

Boring!!!

As always AM site being innefficient for the rest of the world.

Dc9s were retired a month ago!

EMB145 were introduced 5 months ago!

Not an a.net user friendly site!

Ricardo,

I agree with you, the new site is inefficient and boring, just with a facelift. Most links are still dead. They even have outdated information on the site such as the aircraft info.

If you all noticed, on the link about mile redemption, they list "Mexicana and AeroCalifornia" as one of the 3 or 5 links as options. Huge mistake! Once you open the link, it says "Mexicana and AeroCaribe." I can't believe AM hires people to create its HTML that are careless about proofreading.

Two thumbs down!

OK, we'll have to wait!

Well....not everything is EKT with LA....i flew SCL-Bariloche last month, and théy couldn´t offer etkt, only paper tkt. I coudn´t even pre asign seats, seat assingment was only at the airport. Pretty bad for an airline as LA

Really? I didn't know BRC was not in the list (I actually think it is). I've flown lately to EZE, MDZ, LIM, CUN and domestic and I never got another good paper ticket. But you are right, if you don't have ETK you are not able to pre-check on the web.
My next flight to EZE (Oct29th) is already uploaded in their site...

Well this is much, much nicer that the previous one and
still not up to par with Mexicana's but a good change.

For once I see truth in their destinations. They now
have the correct cities that they fly to non-stop and
not with their code-share partners.

I find it quite deceiving to claim you fly to Canada and to
Central America when you don't.

They still claim they are the leader on Ontime in the world.

As a consistent passenger with them, this is far from the
truth and delays of more then 2 hours are very, very common.

Great job Aeromexico on your new webpage that is
exactly like Continentals.

What a shame!! The mile redemption is now a days something very important for the airline and the passengers and the people that made AM's website gets well paid to be careful in all aspects and for not doing this kind of silly mistakes and at the end they confuse AeroCalifornia with AeroCaribe!!

More over AM claims to give 3rd party services to defunct airlines!!

Líneas Aéreas Allegro
Líneas Aéreas Privadas de Argentina
TransBrasil
Aeropostal de México S.A. de C.V.

And the new defunct since past Friday 1st, 2004:
Dutch Carribean Airlines
