On their new A321's, instead of white and blue, it's silver and black/grey. Are they just for the Airbuses, or are they doing the same thing as AirTran making those colors the new one?

The answer to both of your questions is 'yes'. They ARE only for the Airbusses, and the entire fleet will be painted in these colors, as Airbusses will BE the entire fleet shortly.

I think they're horrible. Although rumor had it that some planes would have the black marks, and some would be blue... who knows. But this scheme (except for the red S and the sky... weird) make me think I've gone colorblind. Or that my monitor has gone to B&W on me.

I like the silver, but... it's just like their Detroit big boy competition, NordVest.

OH well. The MD-80 is a nicer ride for me, anyway.  Smile

They had one of the new A321s doing touch and gos at TOL on Tuesday last week. It was pretty cool seeing that silver and black appear out of the clouds while coming in for landing.

One thing to consider is that the darker colrs hide the dirt better than the light colors do.

An Airbus A321-211 (c/n 1794) was seen at the Airbus Industrie plant at Hamburg-Finkenwerder (XFW) in the old(er) white/blue livery, so to me it doesn't look as if all the Airbuses get these silver/black colours.
