Please Help Me Identify This 747

Wed Oct 06, 2004 7:57 am

Today a 747-100SR landed at BFI, wearing ANA colors, but no titles.

The Boeing reg is N238BA, does anyone know the original ANA reg?

Thanks!

Took the Boeing reg #, used it to get the a/c serial #. Used the serial # to get the Boeing line #. Used the line # to get the initial reg.

What future does Boeing have in store for this -100SR?

Royal,

I show this plane ended up flying to ROW, but from ANC, which means that it had multiple flight plans filed...Is it still in BFI tonight?

That former ANA 747 was still sitting at BFI at 6PM this evening.

Royal, for things like this you could always try checking the FAA registry at http://162.58.35.241/acdatabase/acmain.htm

The FAA registry reveals its construction number is 22594, which is indeed JA8152 (a search on 22594 at airliners.net made that link pretty quickly!).

If it's going to a new operator, only one that really makes sense is UPS. They have a few former ANA SR's already, I think. Not many other airlines that have a need for 100-series 747's, and especially not a short range version. Maybe Evergreen; I think they might have a couple of SR's too.

Is there any possibility that the SR100 is going to be converted to an NCA 100-SRF? I know that there were several restrictions on NCA with the last 100 though, not be capable of flying long-distance. Well I hope it returns to the line somewhere, sometime!!!!
