A380 Question

Thu Oct 07, 2004 5:59 am

I'm sure it's been discussed, but I can't find it, who is taking delivery of the A380 first and when is it gonna happen? If testing doesn't go well, will delivery dates be pushed back?

Also, I know the A380 is a double decker, what will the class and seat configs be? Would you be able to fly upper or lower deck for Y class? Just curious,

Also, when is the first flight going to be?

Emirates is the launch customer of the pax version and will get their first A380 in 2006, first flight is scheduled for (late) January 2005.

If one test should fail ... well, same business as everywhere. Maybe this would harm delivery dates - maybe not, depending on what exactly failed to work properly.

Seating configuration, as usual, depends on the customer. In Airbus's standard configuration, Y class is located on both decks. Visit Airbus.com for more information.

The first A380 delivery will be to Singapore Airlines.
