Biman Bangladesh Plane Skids Off Runway

Considering the circumstances, it could have been worse. Hope the injured are fine soon

Doesn't look good to me.

I wonder how BG is going to schedule their future flights with one aircraft less available.

The article stated that the pilots had to be extracted from the plane as they were stuck.

The aircraft looks like S2-ACW, which makes it 27 years old. This means that it will probably be written off, unless Biman have a spare nose section.

I know that this might sound a bit daft, but they did W/O another F28 at the same airport a few years ago, so you never know.

If BG is dumb enough to buy two equally old F28s from Indonesia, I wouldn't be surprised if they try to salvage this one. All it needs is some patching up. If a nose can't be found, one can be manufactured for them. Just find some aluminum cans. That and duct tape. Hey if McGeyver can save the world with it...

Similar kind of incident took place in 97 at the same airport. I think the plane was insured. So, they will get some kinds of compensation for this.

Its better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air than be in the air wishing you were on the ground. Fly safe!

Bennett123,

S2-ADH looks to be the plane according to the pictures and the big H on the nosegear door...
