Changes In The AF Frequences Plus FFP?

Sun Oct 10, 2004 6:37 am

Hello all,

today I received my Air France Frequences Plus account statement as well as a few brochures with news about Air France, Skyteam and Frequences Plus.

In one of the brochures I saw the following information in German:

Achtung!

Translated into English:

Attention! The terms and conditions of the Frequence Plus program will change from January 1st, 2005. Please visit the category "Frequent Traveler" on the site http://www.airfrance.com to view these new terms and conditions.

Of course I visited the site but unfortunately is http://www.airfrance.com only a gateway to reach the local Air France websites. I looked on the German, the US American and on the British site but unfortunately I couldn't find any information about the new terms and conditions of the Frequence Plus program (I didn't visit their main site because I can't understand French).

Does anyone know more about these changes? Will Frequences Plus perhaps become as crappy as Lufthansa's Miles & More became lately? Or is it just a general annoncement because many new airlines entered the Skyteam alliance? I really hope that they will continue to credit 1000 minimum miles for each flight regardless of the booking class! I just became Frequences Plus Bleu member but if their FFP will become as ridiculous as LH's Miles & More has, they will lose me as a customer as well!

Any information is appreciated!

Patrick

Hmm... I had a look at the French site, but so far all I was able to find is that Air France, from 1 January 2005, reserves the right to cancel the Fréquence Plus program within one month (3 months at the moment)...

But that's really all I could find... not really that bad, if that's it.

Regards,
Frank

Frank, thanks for your reply and thanks for looking on the French website!

I have absolutely no problem with that when it is really the only change they are going to make from next year.

The changes they are referring to will involve the consolidation of the Frequence Plus with the KL Flying Dutchman program. The goal in 2005 is to roll out a consolidated AF-KL FFP...no details yet about how the new program will work....

Hi there,

I know that Frequence Plus and Flying Dutchman FFP will merge in 2005. There will be only one FFP and therefore Sabena332, you will get only one FF card for both airliners. But all Frequence Plus and Flying Dutchman members will keep their present miles. They will be transfered in the new program.
