Denver May Loose Its Status As The #5 Airport

Wed Oct 13, 2004 11:48 pm

This article was in today's Rocky. It basically says that PHX and LAS will surpass DEN in passengers over the next few years.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Rumour mill churning at the RMN again, eh?

Interesting, because on a different note, DIA will become the 7th busiest airport in the world over the next twenty years by growing 18-19%.

DIA switched with PHX already, but then gained back its status as number five currently. - 10th overall in the world currently. DIA has had record pax growth numbers this year.

I'd be very surprised if LAS ever passed DEN or PHX. . .

Well at the rate that the Las Vegas metro, and its tourism industry, is growing in 20 years time that would not surprise me.

Las Vegas is not paying Bombardier another penny until the whole system is basically fixed of bugs and nothing else is falling off the trains. How to ensure this? I have no idea. Las Vegas is losing approximately $500,000 per every day the train cannot operate.
