AA Thanksgiving Fares - Book Now?

Thu Oct 14, 2004 6:14 am

Any AAers have insight on your Thanksgiving week fares? Do you think I should book now or hold out another week or so to get something cheaper or a better schedule? I'm doing DCA-TUL-DCA, with a DFW connection. No ORD during Thanksgiving week, thank you!

Thanks.

Now. Fares don't get cheaper as we approach Thanksgiving.

You're smart to avoid ORD during that time, I personally connect through DFW or STL only through winter and ORD only in the summer. Fares have been pretty good lately and I think you should buy it now.

my question would be; what are they quoting you now? If it's decent, I'd say BOOK IT, DANO!

We're starting to get to the point where Thanksgiving fares will only go up... not because the airlines raise the fares, but simply because the seats will fill up.

Winter vacation fares aren't going to be too far behind either, so I'd be looking into that as well. Especially if you're going to a popular warm weather destination like Florida.

Thats one thing that is negative about living in Florida...the fares go up in the winter! Can't the airlines give resident discounts and give those leisure travelers the fare hike?

CO is having a thanksgiving's day sale. You can fly BusinessFirst to Europe real cheap (like $500-$700 each way) if you fly on Thanksgiving week.
