First off you a little late on the story, becuase it alreayd happened, what i mean by that is:

If Northwest can't meet that nearly impossible deadline, says Citigroup Smith Barney analyst Dan McKenzie, the consequences are dire: diminished cash reserves, default on multiple credit agreements and a potential bankruptcy reorganization filing.

They just reached a deal today, well Dan, good luck finding a new job you A**

one issue NW faces in increased fuel costs. The savings they get by not having new jet payments is being wiped out by outrageous fuel costs and inefficent aircraft, as much as 60% when compared to a 73NG or A32x

How hedged is NWA?

Actually even with higher fuel prices, its still cheaper to opearate a DC-9 then a leased bus.

"McKenzie, who advised clients this week to sell Northwest stock, said he's not ready to list it among those carriers facing a likely Chapter 11 in the near term."

I would find a new financial advisor if they were my current one. Like Burnsie28 said good luck finding a new job Citigroup Smith Barney and analyst Dan McKenzie....

Well one thing is for sure. This is a load of Sh**.

"...but their financial strength is eroding rapidly."
Let's be worried about UA, US, and DL. DL lost 6.8M a day last quarter.

NWA's two main problems are 1. Fuel Costs, 2. Labor. They already have a big chunk of the labor that they wanted.
The New American is arriving.
