Homeland Security ATM's?

Thu Oct 21, 2004 6:47 am

Over the last couple of months at SEA I've seen the appearance of machines that look like ATM's with the Dept of Homeland Security seal on the unit, a screen and a slot that looks wide enough to insert a passport. They are all over the place behind security, but I'm curious what they are supposed to be used for. Anyone know?

Thanks,

Charles, SJ

They are part of the US-VISIT program. When you leave the US, you will scan your passport, match your fingerprint, etc. It is to speed up the exit process.
