Aero Cuahonte

Thu Oct 21, 2004 1:41 pm

Interesting airline. They've been around for quite some time, but currently only fly a single route: Lazaro Cardenas - Guadalajara. Aero Cuahonte's plane(s), can regularly be seen at GDL's Commuter air terminal alongside AeroLitoral.

Can anyone shed some info on Lazaro Cardenas?

Lázaro Cárdenas (LZC) is a medium city (pop. 73,396) with heavy steel industry. It has a very busy port handling steel exports to Asia. It is also the entrance to Michoacan isolated coast. LZC is also home to a weather hot as hell.

Previously, Aerocuahonte flew to MLM, UPN and CLQ.

Any idea why the GDL-LZC leg is more expensive than the return LZC-GDL? Maybe it has something to do with GDL user-fees?

And... is there a bright future for the airline? Future plans? Indeed AeroCuahonte once served MLM, UPN and CLQ and also for a few months they flew to TNY.

They should bring more Metro's or why not changing the fleet to Saab's or Embraer's 120s. That could work! They should also return to MLM, UPN and CLQ!!

I've seen it many times, but never hear them on the radio nor see them flying. Weird.

Another carrier that never seems to leave the ground is AeroPacifico, whose at least two of their Metroliners are grounded in Hermosillo (former USAir) and Mexico City. They do operate more right?

Fly727,

I think AeroPacifico has turned into a Cargo or Special Charter airline.

Right! AeroPacifico has now become a cargo carrier! As their name says they mainly do a lot of flights in the Pacific coast... they fly from 12pm to 08am to HMO, CEN, LMM, CUL, DGO, TNY, PVR, GDL, COL, UPN and MEX.
