Emirates To Fly Into Geneva (GVA) In 2005

Fri Oct 22, 2004 8:41 pm

As per the French Travel Inside (a Swiss Travel Trade Magazine) Emirates will fly into Geneva next year. What do you think, would that make sense? Hope it doesn't happen the same thing as to GF.

I have heard that as well. From what I gather from the bits of info left and right I would assume that with Etihad flying to GVA I think the EK would not like to lose out.

Despite the fact that the flights from GVA to Abu Dhabi are not very full, around 80-50 pax per flight, I am sure Emirates would like to have an imposing presence at wherever Etihad would be! That is why it would make sense to me....unless they had planned this route long before but were waiting for the aircraft!

I confirm that an EK GVA flight has been in the rumour rounds since 2003.

Is there really such a big market at GVA for EK?
They are already flying to Milano, Zurich, Paris and Munich - all not that far away from GVA.....

I guess the "Gulf expatriates" coming for a good time in GVA and the banks...

GVA is very popular with the very executive Gulf population.
