I joking brought up the concept of the "SkyTeam Concourse" @ GRR to some ground staff there. It doesn't fit, an operational efficiency would make more sense (having a dual door for DL
is more of a benefit than having CO
/NW so close).
The other option that I thought would have made sense is put AAEagle over by the rental cars, put CO
where AAEagle is now, move SkyWay somewhere else - and put them in the B concourse, then NW
/CO/DL could have all of concourse A.
I still think GRR would be best suited for a common-use layout and single security checkpoint as well as out of common use area TSA
bag screening. This, of course, would take some mods to the layout.
The recent airport publication indicates about 5 more gates (can't remember) coming to GRR, this is good.
