That should be the former N618AU - its lease was terminated during the first bankruptcy and has been sitting in MHV for some time now. I'd assume it's found a new owner and is in LTN for some preparations.

The other two 757's whose leases were terminated, N615AU and N616AU have found new owners.

All other 31 757's are still operating with US.

It'll be nice and pretty when configured for First Choice, repainted and flying for them after its D check.

I'm pretty sure Monarch Engineering are doing the work.

I saw it on Thursday at LTN as I flew out to BUD with Wizz Air, with a registration "G-OOBJ" that is almost a dead certain it is going to FCA. As nearly all their registrations are "G-OO**", from the days they were Air 2000.

I have a feeling that aircraft maybe at LTN for most the winter as most charter airlines operate a reduced fleet during the winter holiday season and cannot see any reason why they will want it in service before April next year.

This does seem strange FCA purchasing one of Boeings very first 757-200s, as they have also some of the last manufactered 757-200s in their fleet too and have already replaced some of their original aircraft.

While the 757 is still in US Airways colours at LTN is does look quite impressive and to people unfamiliar with the airport it looks like we have a direct sceduled service to the US.  Big thumbs up  Smile/happy/getting dizzy  Nuts

I posted this last week but it got pulled. (I guess the snotty title didn't sit well with some of the squeamish moderators... Big grin )

Anyway, when I saw it, it was nosed in towards the Monarch hanger. Maybe they are doing the overhaul work for FCA.TC
