Pam Am Flights Now On Sabre

Mon Oct 25, 2004 1:40 pm

I see on Pan Am's website that their flights are now available for booking on SABRE. This is a good move. It gives the airline the chance of getting more bookings from the travel agent community. IMO, they should have gone SABRE a long time ago. Better late than never. The airline seems to be hanging on. Hopefully this will give PA (sorry, I'm not calling them PN) a boost.

Maybe they will hang on. But if their horrible on time record dosen't change, they won't. The main problem though is that their managment is crap. I mean if you look at their route history, you will see a retarted monkey could plan a better route system. Their route system is decent now though, so they may survive.

So does this mean that their flights will be availible through Expedia, Orbitz, ect... or not?

I betcha I could make the airline run better by moving 'em to JFK and flying the 722's on some routss where DL is just barely hanging on with mainline service...*braces for flaming*

They have found a little niche with their Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic service. I imagine that the flights from FLL to the Caribbean are doing well. Regardless of what people say about them, they have found a way to fly hang on for 5+ years. Let's see if Independence Air can last that long (doubtful).

PN flights have been available for sale on Amadeus for a while (not sure when they signed, but it wasn't recently).

Come on now... that's not very PC... I believe you meant to say a mentally disabled primate could plan a better route system...

But don't you think a retarded monkey would have them flying to Costa Rica, and similar places with large banana crops???

Lol, good point! Big grin

But seriously, they originally flew from PSM and SFB to Gary,IN , Belleville,IL , and a few other small airports. Then they dropped Belleville and Gary and started service to PIT. Then they dropped PIT (even though they got good loads) and started BWI, but they couldn't compete with WN, so they stopped serving there. Then they started serving HPN and stopped. Finally and most recently they served MHT and stopped.

Their routes have come and gone so many times it's mind boggling. But I will give them credit for staying in buisness for quite a while now and they do fly my favorite airliner.
