Air Force One Pilots

I've been wondering what special qualifications you need to have to fly the VC-25, VC-32, C-20 and other USAF aircraft used to transport VIPs? After your Undergraduate flight training in the US airforce, can you be assigned to thease aircraft imediately, or are you first posted to other transports?

Sorry to personaly dredge my own topic from the bowels of the forrum, but I'm realy interested in this. If there are any current/former USAF pilots, or just enthusiasts who know this, please post something.

One would think that to be on the flight crew of AF1 you would have to have many years of flight experience, PLUS a high security rating, because after all, you would be transporting your nations leader.

I am not sure what the deal with 'standard' VIP transports would be though.

I believe you have to be a Colonal in the USAF. I think you are nominated for the job and must have spent a good deal of time in the USAF.
