Anybody knows why this Saturday both of these aircraft landed within a half hour of each other? The A340 had what I think is the usual flight number but the 747's had an 'R' at the end.
The A340 overnighted and took off at 9 AM Sunday. ATC sent him to runway 12. The nosewheel left the ground when there wasn't much runway left, resulting in probably the lowest takeoff I've ever seen on that runway
The only other time I ever saw an A340 during the day at Miami was in 1998, probably due to a mechanical of the PM flight where they did use the A340 & DC-10. As far as I know the A340 has never substituted the 747 on the afternoon flight.
