I am curious as to why Emirates has opted not to order the 747-400. They clearly have a need for the capacity by ordering every other large widebody in existance. They have even ordered 43 A380s, clearly showing their need for ultra high capacity airframes. So my question is, prior to ordering the A380, why would Emirates choose to not get the 747? Would it not be profitable for them to at least lease some 744s until the A388 arrives? Mr curiosity in the subject has been growing after seeing their recent fleet acquisitions and orders (as well as potential orders) for future aircraft, I am rather surprised that they havn't utilized the capacity and range of the 747-400.
