Aer Lingus And The A319

Wed Oct 27, 2004 11:45 pm

I once read in a book, 'The Guide to Civil Aircraft and Airline Markings' or something like that and under Aer Lingus it said that there were orders for four aircraft. Does anyone know if this applies still or was cancelled? If it applies, when are they going to get them? Thanks for any info.

Hello Rossyboy

Airbus Orders+Deliveries Sheet as of 30SEPT04 shows for Aer Lingus (includes only direct ordered aircraft, not via leasing companies):
A320: 11 ordered/7 delivered
A321: 3 ordered/3 delivered
A332: 2 ordered/2 delivered
A333: 1 ordered/1 delivered
no sign of an A319 for EI

I know the booklets "Civil Aircraft Registers and Airline Markings", altough they are nice but they are never that up-to-date since published once a year - and nowadays the figures in the airline-scenery change almost every day...

Edit: Shame on me being impolite...so: welcome to a.net Rossyboy!  Smile

Hi Rossyboy - cead mile failte go hAirliners.net!

EI did have an order for A319s at one stage, but these were cancelled and instead EI has ordered A320s, delivery of which is now under way.

Thanks TW741 and Kaitak. I hate to bother again but how many new A320s are they going to get? I know they have got as far as EI-DEG. Thanks.

for the moment a total of 11 are ordered from Airbus, thereof 7 delivered, 4 more to come.
But: number of A320 in operation is as of September are 12 A320 - so there are some leased A320's also in operation. In case they keep the leased ones plus the 4 to be delivered this would make a total of 16.

Another big "but":
Aer Lingus own fleet forecast until December 2005 is:
6 A321
21 A320
4 A333
3 A332

So a lot more A320's to come for EI....

Greetings
