I'm not a frequent F traveller like some people I know. A friend of the family splits his time between his houses in Cannes and the UK as well as his place of work in Essen, Germany (where he lives on weekdays) and also combines twice monthly trips to JNB
Having spoken to him he couldn't really care less whether he is flying on a 747, 767, A340 or Sopwith Camel. He needs to get where he wants on time and in comfort which means F. His JNB
trips are only a day long and so if he isn't in tip-top it isn't worth his time going down there.
For me I find dont' get the excitement on here about flying on a 777, 747 -400 or whatever. Especially when the service is identical on each flight. For me the only time I change my timetable depending on operating aircraft is when I fly to LHR
. Preferably I'd take the morning BA
flight however its a 777 which sucks in J in my opinion. Especially if you have a full flight the service goes down the pan and the 777 J cabin always feels so cramped because of 2-4-2 config. The BA223/293 in the afternoon is operated by a 747 and so I always for for this flight knowing that I can get upper deck. Less seats, better service, more private feel, side pods for hand luggage etc etc.
