Follow Up To SAS Cargo 747's

Thu Oct 28, 2004 12:00 pm

About a month ago I asked if anyone knows if SK is getting 747's for their cargo routes. According to SK's inflight magazine (Sept issue), they are getting two 747's. Are they actually gettig two planes that will painted over to SK colors, or will they use, say LH 747's, flying under SK?

If my sources are correct, the 747s will actually be Atlas aircraft, on a wet lease arrangement.

Philsquares - Yeah, I heard that as well. Any idea if the planes will changed to SK livery?

From what I have heard, they will be painted in SK's colors. In addition, SK just signed a deal for block space on KE.

Wow,

Nice to see the 747 back in the SK fleet! What was the last year SK operated the 747?

Do they have any dedicated freighters at the moment?

Last passenger service 742 ended in 1985.
I believe cargo 747's continued for a few more years, maybe even to '97
