PVD757: where are you, buddy? Did they bring in an A321, by any chance?

No, they had the MD-80, apparently the flight was about 45% full from witness accounts.

Apparently RSW and FLL advance business must be good. They are using extra MD-80s to provide many holiday extra sections from PVD as the aircraft become available when A-321s are placed into service elsewhere. Should get an additional boost as AA scrubbs its FLL service up in BOS.

Wow, thats good. 45% for the first day is pretty good. I wouldn't expect them to fly the 321 there until spring/summer when the vacation season starts up there.

OK - there was a ceremony at gate 22 with the usual festivities.

The 0650 to FLL had 140/150 seats full, the 0905 had 135/150 seats full. The 1505 FLL was booked near full and the 1640 DTW was around 75% booked. All PVD-FLL and PVD-RSW flights through the end of the year are already booked to 80%. This info was obtained directly from NK at PVD...

Don't look to see an A321 before year's end except on an unscheduled equipment change. NK has already added 1 FLL and 1 RSW extra section on 7 or 8 days around Thanksgiving and Christmas. A 5th flight (don't know where to) and A321 are almost assured by Spring...
