At least in case of COK I know for sure that its going to be a mix of A320s and some A330s I believe. But its a question purely of load and aircraft rotation. With aircraft type not being restricted during the open sky phase, QR would much rather plan the medium range A300 and A320s (maybe even 321s) for the India routes than the A330 which would be better off doing the long hauls. Unless of course the demand justifies it, the A300 and A320 are better suited to QR's scheme of things in India.

According to the QR website only the A 300-600Rs and A 320s will be flying on the extra India flights.

Oh btw ATWONLINE has reported that JNB and CPT are confirmed to be launched by QR from Jan 16th 05 with A 332s but the manner in which they've written it is confusing.

"Qatar Airways will launch service to Johannesburg and Cape Town Jan. 16. The airline will begin two weekly flights from London Heathrow, three weekly flights from London Gatwick and two weekly flights from Manchester to each city. All routes will be operated using A330-200s".

Does this mean that QRs 7 weekly flights to South Africa will use the same aircraft of the flight coming in from the UK cities mentioned above alongwith the the stated frequency?

No I dont think so GF flies from DOH anymore nonstop to any city outside of its Gulf hubs ever since the DOH Govt decided to sell its stake in GF in 1999-2000.

What could be still there is a flight such as DOH-BAH-India or DOH-AUH-India...but from MCT-AUH and BAH there are many nonstop flights by GF to many points in India.
