Since ATA owns some of their 738s, it is possible that FL
would choose to buy some as they transition to a full operation at MDW
. I doubt they would assume the horrible lease costs that ATA is paying and would either renegotiate a lower price, or leave ATA and the lease holders to duke it out, while they took the owned 738s and more of their own aircraft from Boeing. As far as the cockpits go, whether the airlines use the WN
"steam gauge" mimmiker layout on the 737NGs or they use the newer type readouts, according to people in MX
it only takes a laptop and 30 minutes to change the set up, so that is not a big deal. Given that FL
is a new (well, they used to have 732s, but that is moot) 737 operator, it is likely they have the newer type readouts, and the same is the case with ATA.
