Easyjet A319

Fri Nov 05, 2004 5:24 am

How are easyjet managing to fit 156 seats on the new A319's? I realise they make legroom tight but does this also mean that they have withdrawn all toilets and galleys or something!?
Anyone know exactly how many 6-abreast rows they are actually fitting into those things?

What, have calculators not yet been invented in the UK? Unless the laws of mathematics have changed, 156 divided by 6 is still 26. So that'll be the number I place my bets on.

Calculators? A good education should allow you to do it in your head!

No signs of a toilet at the back at least not from what my eyesight allows. So does that mean they are substituting toilet space etc. for seats? Can't be too comfortable with say just 1 toilet on a 3 hour trip.

yeah, plus, EVERY LCC 737 i have been on, never has a front left hand side wall/galley/cloakroom, so maybe there is room to add more space there

easyJet do not have any Galley 2 unit that protrudes into the cabin. They also have no coat closet by the L1 door either. At the rear there is not toilets in the inside of the L2 and R2. the galley is only a half galley. The other side being a second toilet.

That type of set up down the back (half galley / half lav) is used by AF and NH on some of their Airbuses. UA and AN both had that set up (vs. a galley the whole way across) but had an additional galley and toilet opposite.

Also it helps that the seat pitch is 28"-29" !

Hi

The BA 320-100s have half galley ,half lav on them. Galley fwd and aft of R2 door, lav aft of L2 with aft facing jumpseat opposite. New 319/320/321 have galley all way across with lavs either side of cabin at rear of seats.

i flew an Easyjet A319 SXF-PMI. Comfort was equivalent to any A333 or A343 I have ever flown.

Do the emergency exit rows have extra leg room like the 737's easyJet has or are they the standard seat pitch?

Also has LTN got any A319's based there? As I flew out of LTN on the 21st October and a UK registered A319 arrived as I thought the only A319's LTN had were on the GVA-LTN route from their swiss base.

Wish I'd been on that A319 delivery, that captain didn't half test out the aircraft capability to dip and turn sharply with a cabin full of EasyJet Crew!!  Big grin
