British Airways has offered me a credit equal to the amount i payed three years ago for a flight. It is valid up until the end of this month. I didnt take the flight because it was close to Sept 11 and I was afraid to fly (not to mention their numerous flight cancellations to the USA back then). At that time, this was standard BA practice for passengers like me who opted not to fly.
I approached BA yesterday and they are willing to grant me the credit BUT mentioned that i may have to pay a TICKET CHANGE fee. Is this right for them to do in light of the circumstances that were prevalent on/around Sept 11 under which my credit was issued? Whats my best defense against this or any additional new fees that they may want to charge. Any suggestions?
