Wed Nov 10, 2004 2:16 am

Hi All

Flying HKG-SIN soon on 777 or 773. What can I expect IFE/Service etc. Think I will be in J class as its duty travel.

Cheers for any help

I flew HKG-SIN back in October of 2002 on a B773 (B744 return) in coach class. It was a very nice trip. CX has excellent service, good food, and a great entertainment system. I'm sure that J class would make for a great flight.

Even if you're stuck in coach class, it isnt bad. The Boeing 777 is a great aircraft and the -300 model is even cooler (just because it's quite a long bird). Now CX has an expanded number of video channels for their PTVs (over 20 channels in Y class). If PTVs aren't your thing than you can still enjoy their well trainined cabin crews and pretty decent food.

Hi... I flew NRT-HKG last month in J class on a 773. Very comfortable indeed. The seats were CX's previous generation long-haul biz-cl. seats. The IFE is the fold-out screen, with the full StudioCX system, so more choice than you could ever watch on a regional flight.

The service? It was CX, so terrific as always, no matter Y, J or F !! What more can you say?

In case of an a/c change on the day you fly, on the way up to NRT a couple days beforehand, I was on one of their latest-delivery 333's, which had brand-new "regional" J-class seats, which were firmer and more "slim-line" than the older seats on the 773, as well as being electrically operated, rather than mechanical, but still very comfortable.

Enjoy.

The three newest 777-300s B-HNM, HNN and HNO all have the new regional business class seats. Some of the other interiors are looking a little tired, but still to a pretty good standard.

So, Intheknow, looks like you got that ferry flight you were looking for! Congrats! Have fun. (...and have fun flying CX of course!)

Cathay service is very good. J class should get you into the lounge at Hong Kong. Actually there are two - one by immigration, and another at the far end of the terminal. The first one, and its Long Bar, has a great view of the tarmac.
