BMI Aircraft Change

Fri Nov 12, 2004 1:59 am

Last week I was at aberdeen waiting to fly to Heathrow and according to my itinerary and sabre, I was on a 319. Then a F100 turns up instead.

I am scheduled to fly from Edinburgh to Heathrow next week on what sabre is quoting as a 319. Does anyone know if BMI actually operate any 319?
But if a F100 turns up, I won;t be dissapointed :- )

Has anyone had any aircraft changes?

A week ago we were flying HNL-SFO and had an equipment change from a 763 to 777. An even longer time ago on the same route we were to be on a 763 but were upgraded to a 747.

Thanks again.

BMI offers a much extended Business Class on it's Aberdeen and Glasgow london routes using A319's.
If the flight doesnt sell too well Ive seen them switch it to the smaller F100.

BMI can change it's A319's Business seating into Economy seating by switching a lever on the end row seat (on the aisle) which moves the armrests inwards (2 +2 with a mini-gap in the middle) or a 3+3 economy.
They change the headrest cover colour and move the curtains.

When closer to the flight date they will offer less economy and show business seats as available at a full economy price (i.e. the economy ticket becomes the same price as the business ticket.. so which are you going to buy if you have to fly).. and if BA are offering economy for the same price.. then who are you going to pick ?

However if they have a lot of advance "economy" seat sales they offer less business and fill those middle seats.

However if there flight isnt sold too well, they will replace the A319 with one of there F100's which they use quite a bit on the MAN routes.

Dynamic eh ?

LH do the same with routes from Dusseldorf, I did a flight the other week where there was only 6 rows of economy ! on a A319. It only takes a few minutes to reconfigure the seats.
So far in 2008 45 flights and Gold already. JFK, IAD, LGA, SIN, HKG, NRT, AKL, PPT, LAX still to book ! Home Airport LCY

Yes they do operate 319. BMI brought me to LHR from Napoli on one that was only six weeks into service according to the male F/A. It was a sweet ride, too.
