A friend of mine is studying with me in Canada. He doesn't have a return flight booked to the UK yet, and is going to Florida over Xmas to see his family who will be vacationing there. He needs to get back to London in January, but all the one way flights I have found from either MCO, MIA and FLL are around te £500 mark. Booking a return flight however is abour £200 less. If he were to book a return, would he be able to get back to London with no fuss, or will there be problems. I know the airlines frown on this, but will US immigration frown on it: will they want to know why he is returning with no ticket to actually leave the US once he "gets back" later in the month? Also, are there any charter flights to the UK that he could get a one-way ticket on?
Any advice would be great!
