Possible Progress With Santa Rosa STS And Horizon

Tue Nov 23, 2004 1:33 pm

Hello folks, first time posting here.
I am working on my CFI certificate at Santa Rosa and I am aware of the ongoing discussions to bring back scheduled service. As some of you know, Skywest (as United Express) operated EMB-120s to SFO and LAX before 9/11. I was out with my instructor the other day working on one of his 172s and they were re-painting a fresh 'Restricted' border around the Terminal Ramp area. Is anyone connected with Horizon or in the loop aware of any deals? I know there were rumors that other carriers might be involved as well. Would this be a PDX-STS run if it is indeed Horizon?
God was my copilot, but we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat him...

If QX is in the mix for STS service, it will be from LAX. That is the service that they were pushing for, and I believe got a grant for. ACV got a similar grant from a push like STS had. We already have air service, but Chris Kerrigan, the City Coucil rep for Eureka, pushed hard for the service grant, and we got it. It will be from LAX if QX is indeed the carrier.
