I unfortunitely didn't get to see the movie,... but in the past, i tend to just critique the bad parts or the movies like this.. I mean, was it Executive Decision (same Oceanic airliner right.. bad record for Oceanic... :-) where they are crawling around between lowers pallets and LD-3's... yeah, right!! So the captain has this bomb that will explode if it drops below a certain altitude... So, don't depressurize... hows the bomb gonna know what altitude its at otherwise unless its hooked to a radar alitmeter... Solves the ladning problem.
Next, even at the halfway point between LAX and HNL, the plane should have enough fuel to turn back to mainland.. or where ever. they carry extra fuel on these things.
OK, so, anyways, you can't descend below 2300, drop to nine or so, depressurize, open a door and throw it out. Dangerous.. sure, but look at the choices. I didn't see the movie,(appearently missing good footage of CHristina), why couldn't it be moved???
And for the gentleman who asked if moving ALL the pax to the front would cause a weight and balance prob... probably.. but there are lots of different vairables in ther.. but the pilots could just trim it up enough to at least fly level.
OK, see why i don't watch these movies now?? That willing suspension of disbelief doesn't work for me. Just my $.02, I ould be wrong.
