Flyglobespan Fleet

Tue Nov 23, 2004 9:54 pm

Does anyone know what aircraft Flyglobespan is operating at the moment?

I saw one of the Icelandic registered aircraft at Edinburgh at the weekend and it doesn't have any globespan titles. Is this going back to Islandsflug/Avion?

The register on shows them as only operating G-OTDA and G-GSPN which were based at Glasgow along with one other aircraft during the Summer. The Winter schedule at Edinburgh barely requires one aircraft. Are they just operating with two for the winter?

Jamie.

ps Looking forward to seeing the 738's when they arrive ready for Summer.

I also recently had a look at their fleet, but only came to the conclusion, that they had some a/c on a wetlease basis from channel express and islandsflug.
The winter-timetable seems to need two a/c, which have to be G-OTDA and G-GSPN.

Their website unfortunately doesn´t provide much infos.

I think they charter some aircraft in the summer as i was lucky enough to see one get painted here st Bournemouth.

I thought they had more than 2 planes - think some may not be in their livery at the moment.

According to http://jethros.i12.com they have the following:

G-CELR B733 Op By Channel Express (Daytime) *
G-GSPN B733
G-OTDA B733

* Only leased aircraft at present, the other two are Op by FlyGlobespan under their own AOC. Although not specified on the site mentioned, i think this is the EDI based AC, and at nightits converted to freighter config to do mail runs for Channex...

The 3 737-800 which globespan has bought are due in march/April next year, along with 2 737-300s which will be leased from channex.

Further to the above, todays CAA publication reveals that Globespan have applied to lease a czech registered 737-400 (OK-TVR) to provide extra capacity for next summer. The lease period is 25th march 2005 - 31st October 2005

Must be expecting a good summer? Hope their right!

So how many aircraft will they have for next Summer? They had hoped to base 6 aircraft at GLA.

Since releasing their plans for summer 2005, there is no mention of Belfast. They operated a weekly Palma flight May - October in 2004, so I am sadly presuming that this route has been axed for summer 2005. Anyone got any info.

It looks like it, BFSUK101. Their route map on their website shows nothing from BFS, just all the routes from EDI and GLA.

GLAGAZ: The fleet for next summer looks like it will be:

5x 737-300
1x 737-400
3x 737-800

Thanks Nighthawk. But did Globespan not say they would have 10 aircraft for Summer 05. 6 at GLA and 4 at EDI?

I am looking forward to them getting the 737-800.

Will any aircraft of the fleet come to EGHH(Bournemouth) at any time next year?

But did Globespan not say they would have 10 aircraft for Summer 05. 6 at GLA and 4 at EDI?

I guess it is still highly possible that they could get hold of another aircraft before next summer. Maybe another B733 from Channex, or was it not you, GLAGAZ, who suggested that Flyglobspan may well have ordered 4 and not 3 B738s?

No it wasn't me that said that. But I'm pretty sure it's 3 738's. Atleast I don't think it was me. Are these new aircraft off the production line or have they been bought from an American airline?
