El AL Israel Airlines, Look!

Tue Mar 14, 2000 6:56 pm

Dear friends, As I remember there was a stron dispute on this forum regaridng the "new" El Al colors. After almoust a year I have to admit that I have changed my mind. Not only thta I find them good but I think that in all those available (the newer ones) they are among best. How do you feel about that.

Sorry, I still don't like the "look" and colours. They would be more appropriate for a northern country. The white and silver make you think of ice and snow.

This is one of my FAVE liveries!!! What could be more appropriate for a warm country like Israel? Just like how they build white-coloured houses(or kibbutzes in Israel) in places with hot summers!

This color scheme "does not" make me want to kibbitz....
I like the flowing line of the blue ribbon, but the amount and intensity of the white is just too much for me...

miles better than the old "block" one, this ones looks light and cheerful where the other one looked heavy and the light and dark blue was a bit clumsy.

i like the new scheme but only on the 737(all of the types they have) and the 757 but i think the 767 and 747 look to "bleachy" with the new livery

Polaris: The old ones didn't exactly make you think of the desert either.

Personally, I think they're great!

I think the new colors look really sweet! Much better than the old ones and light years better than some other airlines' liveries (ie. Air Canada). El Al's especially look good on their 744's. BTW, where do the 744's go? JFK or EWR?

I think El Al's new scheme is a vast improvement over their previous one and looks similar too JAS's rainbow stripes. Personally, I think there is nothing wrong with white as long as the tail has color. Air Canada has one of the best c/s around!! Love the Maple Leaf!!!

I think you are right! the c/s looks at it's best on the 744, they are flying mostly to both JFK (2 up to 3 times a day), and once a day they are flying LY017 from TLV to EWR, although sometimes the flights are made by El Al's 742 (by 4X-AXQ & 4X-AXD/F/H)
the 744 are flying from time to time to CDG or ORY and LHR or STN.
they are really great planes to fly on!

I saw this paint sheme long ago!
And ive been waiting for it since 97..
yah thats when I first saw this new paint sheme..
I had to ask one of the airport staff what that was on the 747-200 large scale model that was on display. It was very nice. I like it waayyyyyyyy better than the older one. THe older one makes EL AL`s aircraft look very old (which they are) but now with the paint sheme u think .. hey its nice and clean now! Wayy better.
Ill probley fly EL AL this summer if anything..
