ATW Editorial On Subsidies

Apologies if already posted...!

Interesting viewpoint. Do people think the competition from RR to GE/P&W is "unfair" because RR (as a private firm with shareholders) is happy not to make so much profit in the short run, and go for market share & new products instead?

There could be a chance that in 10-15 years time. P&W has no new "big" engines being sold of its own, just alliance engines (IAE/ EA)

if a company is willing to forgo short term profits to increase their market share, but not so much they become insolvent then so be it.

It's their own choice how they play the game, and I'm sure they understand the risks, if they get it wrong, they go bust.
