Any Fear Of Flying Courses In Atlanta Area?

Thu Nov 25, 2004 12:32 am

yes, I hate to admit I'm afraid of flying. Loved it as a kid, didn't fly much from 13-20 years old, I then flew Atl-Denver and Atl-Vail/Eagle a total of 3 times in the last 7 years and was absolutly terrified. Nothing traumatic happened....it's just the feeling of not being in control, has nothing to do with terrorism etc. Yes I know all the stats, and I agree it's silly to be so scared of something. But, I'm getting married in a couple months and will have to fly again Atl-somewhere in Caribbean or Mexico. Are there any courses I can take to hopefully get over this? Tried to get info from Hartsfield, but they were useless, big suprise there  Big grin. I've looked into flying private, but cheapest I've found is ~$20,000, so that's not reasonable.

Sorry to be so long winded....and Thanks for any help!

If you send me an email, I can see if the Alteon Training Center in Atlanta or Miami can do something for you.

It used to be that the airlines themselves used to work in conjunction with fearfull flyers with classes that were usually conducted by a seasoned pilot or flight attendant and would culminate in a "graduation" flight somewhere. But with the cutbacks and the down turn of the industry, I have not heard of these offerings since at least the mid-80's. Too bad, it was a great idea.
