Clearing Customs Times At LHR T1

Fri Nov 26, 2004 9:35 am

Hello all! Can anyone give me an approximation of how long it takes to clear T1 immigrations in the early/mid-afternoon (flight arrives at about 15.15) travelling with an EU/EEA passport? Im booking my friend's coach ticket (and picking her up at T1), and since I've never used T1 (except for the BK Big grin), wanted to know more or less how much time anyone who has actually used T1 thinks I'd need. Many thanks

I should say it takes 10 mins MAX...
Altho the queues get long, they tend to open a few more desks and it goes very quick.. its the bag process that takes forever.. make sure its just carry on baggage!!

Ten minutes to 20 minutes is good unless you get behind some fool who tells the officer he is there to work and has no work permit for the UK.

Yes, when I was leaving in Southampton and that friends were visiting me I had to do the same.

Book the earliest National Express Coach and make sure that they would not miss it.

Count 20 mn and it should be OK at this time of the day. Ask them to rush.

The longest part is getting your bags and then going to Heathrow Central Bus STation. It is not that convenient and takes at least 5mn from T1.

From countless experience The fastest queue is always the one on the very left of the hall, as it usually splits into two at the end, whilst other queues have one immigration agent.

10 Minutes maximum on a EU passport. Membership has its privilages.
You are 100 times more likely to catch a cold on a flight than an average person!
