North American Airlines To China

Fri Dec 03, 2004 12:30 am

Tiny US carrier North American Airlines filed with the US DOT to begin Oakland – Honolulu – Shanghai service beginning on March 24, 2005 with a dual-class 767-300ER (24J/213Y). One year later, the airline will add non-stop service between Oakland and Shanghai three days per week and between Oakland and Guangzhou four days per week, with a dual class 777-200ER (44J/242Y).

I admire their effort, but doubt they have the prowess to beat out AA, CO or DL for the route authority.

That would be cool to see, but I'm kinda skeptical.

When did they place an order for a 777; and/or where are they getting it from?

They didn't order them afaik. I believe it's based on them getting the route authority and then ordering the aircraft. Also, their 763s operate in a 2x4x2 config in Y, that is tight, espectially going US West Coast - China via HNL.
