ThomsonFly From Bournemouth

Sat Dec 04, 2004 8:51 am

ThomsonFly are starting flights from Bournemouth in March to the following destinations; Salzburg, Nice, Naples, Tenerife, Amsterdam and two more destinations. I think one of the other two is Palma De Mallorca, I cannot remember the final route but is a city break type destination. I found this out earlier today from someone within the company, although officially these are not released until Wed 8th December.

Just thought some of you may wish to know these early and get plans for those cheap trips, apparently a return fare to AMS may be starting from as little as £17!!

Venice or Vienna is also earmarked as a future route, I cant remeber which was said, don't bash me for not having exact details but I couldn't exactly sit there and write all this "secret" information down!

I am surprised Malaga, Alicante or even Valencia isn't included in the line up. They have also recently announced a new route from Coventry to Barcelona. Flights from Coventry, Doncaster and Bournemouth will be rolled out from Monday. Apparantly they will be using 2 737-300's at Bournemouth and 3 737-300's as well as 1 737-800 at Doncaster.

Hi,

I thought ThomsonFly was going to go to Malaga  Smile But if what you said is true i cannot go  Sad

Is there any chance of them basing any more aircraft here in 2005?

Hmmmm,
I'm a little dubious about some of this. Also the aircraft types are a bit off as well. I know a senior source at Thompsonfly (ex BY) and as far as his dept know its only 737-500 aircraft to be used, no other aircraft leases have been signed. Not to knock you European, i love your commitment to BOH news! I'm the same with BRS!

If your interested there is talk at BY that a 757 will be used for flights from BOH to the more typical holiday destinations, at the expense of SOU.

Its really easy to choose a low cost airline route now a days. Check out easyjet and copy there route structure!

I think alot of this is wrong ans is just messed up romours.

Thomson have been doing a few flights from Bournemouth already and i am not on about the american flights - They have been going to plces near spain.I have not see one of the flights take off but that is what i have written down in a Bournemouth Flight table booklet.

The 757's have started getting the Thomsonfly titles now.

As for the 737-800 - I do not know, non off the 737-800's have Thomsonfly titles so i thnk they are just sticking with the good old 737-500  Smile

I actually DID read that Thomsonfly were getting the 737-800 from Britannia Nordic (or whatever their called), and Thomsonfly (charter formally Britannia, I knew this stupid rebranding would get confusing!) were having a 737-800 in Newcastle. So Thomsonfly (LCC) are supposed (and could well be) having 1 737-800, and 5 737-300's to add to their fleet. That can always change though. We know for sure though that Dublin, Faro and Paris are to be added to the route network, but where these are served from (Coventry, Bournemouth or Doncaster) is still uncomfirmed. As I said, we will know tomorrow when flights go on sale...

Two former-Ryanair, former-Buzz, former-Continental 737-300s (ones which didn't get painted) are at Southend (G-BZZH and G-BZZI). I hear they'll be off soon to Bournemouth for ThomsonFly.

Don't quote me on that though!

No one will know what routes are to be offered from Bournemouth until Thomsonfly announce them on Wednesday. The list given in this thread has a few suspect routes.

Britannia/Thomsonfly are basing a 737-800 at MME next summer and not NCL.
When you hear the noise of the Tartan Army Boys, we'll be coming down the road!
