Condition Of DC-6 At Lanseria, South Africa?

Sun Dec 05, 2004 6:49 pm

G'day all,

I've got a question for the South African members out there (or anyone who has recently been to Lanseria). I am wondering what is the current condition of the DC-6 EL-WNH which is there. I gather it is being used for some for of rescue training. Is this true, and what exactly does this involve - setting the thing on fire and putting it out, or just training with smoke? Is the aircraft still airworthy (or capable of being returned to airworthiness)?
