CO Too Many 767's For Schedule?

Wed Dec 08, 2004 5:05 am

I was looking at CO's current timetable.

I think CO has 10 767-200's and 16 767-400's. If I am right, does this schedule show more 767-200's than CO has to handle this schedule??

767-200's:

IAH-HNL
EWR-DUB
EWR-GVA
EWR-GLA
EWR-LGW
EWR-LAX
EWR-MXP
EWR-CDG
EWR-FCO
EWR-GRU
EWR-ZRH
HNL-GUM

767-400's:

IAH-AMS
IAH-HNL
IAH-OGG
IAH-LAX X 2
IAH-MCO
IAH-GRU
EWR-BRU
EWR-FRA
EWR-HNL
EWR-SJU
EWR-SANTO DOMINGO
HNL-LAX
HNL-NGO
GUM-NRT X 2 ( 1 A/C COULD DO THIS)

Thanks, Alex

The error lies in that you listed 762s on some routes that are flown by the 764s. My guess is that you looked at the designation '767'--Continental list the 767-200 as 762, the 767-400 as 764, and the Pacific configured 767-400s (76Hs) as 767. The 762 does not fly into the pacific at all.

I believe they only use the 764 seasonally to SJU/SDQ and assume they would fly EWR-SJU or SDQ-EWR and then onwards to Europe?

Nearly every 767 is flying the line on any given day.

Does CO have any options on 764's? Also anyone know how well it's performing for CO?

I think we would see a 777 before a 767 order

Continental is currently getting 14 block hour days of utilization out of their 767's and 777's. While they might not buy, I would think they'd be looking for leased aircraft too fill in the gaps. More likely, the 762's will come off the domestic routes to go overseas, and 757's would backfill for 767's on some of the European routes. CO has sworn off aircraft purachases for at least the next 2-3 years...
