BA To Drop MAN-CPH

Wed Dec 08, 2004 6:27 am

That BA (or rather BACitiExpress) route is to be dropped from 5th January. The text of the announcment suggests there should be more MAN news soon (perhaps the replacment of DHC8 on some MAN services with the freed up EMB145s e.g. on the SOU route?)

Guess BA didn't achieve what it hoped with the route. Sun-Air still serves MAN-BLL twice daily for BA using the J41 and ATP. Will eventually switch to the Doriner Do328.

Also, with regard to the non-existent Dash 8 replacements, BA CitiExpress is returning two Embraer 145s (G-EMBC and G-EMBD) to their lessor next year, as well as a BAe 146-200 (G-MIMA). So three jets leaving, as well as all the Dash 8s if the planned retirement is followed through. Either some aircraft need to come from somewhere pretty quick or looks like CitiExpress is going to be dropping a few more routes next year apart from MAN-CPH.
