American DFW-CDG

Thu Dec 09, 2004 7:24 am

I seem to remember that last year American operated 2x daily DFW-CDG in the summer (both 763), however I do not see the second flight loaded into the timetables. Is American planning to operate the second frequency again this year? Thanks in advance --Scott

They had either 2x daily or 10x weekly this summer, I know, but I'm not sure about next summer. I would think that the market could support at least 10x weekly with a 763 seeing that the route supported 2x daily AA 772s and an AF A343 for a while. Evidently it didn't support those flights well enough...  Sad

What is the flight number of DFW-CDG? I thought it was American Airlines Flight 800?

What surprises me is that the cities if DFW can support 3 daily Paris flights.

TriJetFan1:

Well, it's not like DFW is the primary hub of the largest airline in the world or anything.

I didnt say AA, I meant the city of Dallas/ Fort Worth. Im surprised that there is that much demand for CDG in DFW.

That's my point. Not all of the CDG passengers are from the DFW metro area.

It's the same concept that ATL can support 4 Paris flights, or IAD can support 4 Frankfurt flights.

Or DTW with 2 NRT, multiple AMS, FRA, CDG etc, and works the reverse for LH and BA into DTW.

It's called a Hub and Spoke system.

I will ask again, is the flight number of AA's DFW-CDG flight still American Airlines Flight 800? I recall seeing a photo (in several months after the TWA 800 disaster, in case you are wondering), of an MD-11 departing LAX. The photographer commented that after arriving at DFW, the aircraft would continue on to CDG as AA Flight 800. Is this still the current flight number of the DFW-CDG flight?
