What If... Douglas+Lockheed

Fri Dec 10, 2004 3:13 pm

Not strictly referring to the military divisions here. But say that the civil divisions of Douglas and Lockheed had wound up together instead of competing. Would they be a viable third supplier today? (a third supplier seems to be something our current situation needs.)

I feel this would balance the table. This would have given Airbus a run for their money and without government largesse to boot. We will never know. Sad thing is, Lockheed had a lot of cool prototype designs including Super Sonic/HSCY birds.
