Air Atlanta Europe 747s Marana-Bangor-?

Sun Dec 12, 2004 2:57 am

For the past couple days there have been single Air Atlanta Europe 747s heading from Marana, AZ (obviously storage) to Bangor, Maine before heading back 'home' to Europe. Are these being taken out of mothballs to serve some Holiday charters from Europe? Anybody know?

www.flytecomm.com will show you these flights by typing in 'BGR' in the Arrival Airport field.

Bangor is Forest Gump's Box of Chocolates; you never know what you're gonna get. Oh, to be a spotter up there. I'm in New Hampshire, but the very southern edge. It's close to four hours for me to get up there if I wanted to...and tha's without stops.

Atlanta do sometimes park airplanes at MZJ when they don't need them for a while. I'll bet this one's coming out of store in preparation for the Hadj.

If they're going outbound U.S. then it's possible they're originating in SFB where they'll use BGR as a tech stop before hopping the pond. They've used BGR as an inbound stop as well. I was in BGR in mid September....saw alot of oddballs coming and going. Even got a shot of the Proteus up close.  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
