New Airlines To Serve Canada.

Sat Mar 18, 2000 1:05 am

Are there going to be any International or Transborder airlines going to serve Canada soon? I hope to see some new one. Are there any new airlines getting started?

NO. It says in the rules "Check if your post has already been discussed". I am new and have checked back until Dec 99 and you have asked the same question. The answer then is NO, the answer now is NO and the answer next week is NO

Ease up mate.

I could have asked three months ago "Will a Southwest Airlines 737 overrun the runway at Burbank Airport" The answer then is NO, the answer now is NO and the answer next week is NO. Not the case is it?

The airline industry is ever changing and things can change from week to week, as if is what is in your profile is correct, you will know about this.

Three months in aviation is a long time. We have had AC takeover CP, CEO of BA stepping down, Ariana hijack,

And for your information, yes, Qantas will be starting to serve YVR and YYZ in its own right. YYZ is going to be a new service, and the YVR service is because they will no longer be codesharing with CP.

This kid did not just ask this question 3 months ago! You are a new member, so you will begin to understand very soon how annoying this kid is. He asks this question AT LEAST once a week. It has come to a point where nobody responds to his posts anymore, except in negative ways. Why he keeps asking is an enigma to us all, because he is just a joke among participants in this forum. I'm very easy to get along with, and don't get bent out of shape easily, but give me a break! The same question, over and over, and over, and over! Let's all make a pact to let YWG777 know if any news on YWG or any airport in Canada, or on Air Canada in general comes up, it will be posted. This is the only solution, because he can't seem to find Air Canada's web site or any of the airline news websites (one of which is right here on airliners.net). Give it time Brissie, he'll wear you down!

I have only been a member under this name for a short time but have been around for a lot longer.

I suppose if someone keeps asking the same questions over and over, people may get to the point where only negative responses are thrown at him. This is just a sign of a little immaturity in the people that respond to him this way.

Why doesn't someone help this kid out and actually give him Air Canada's website or one of the news websites instead of just being negative towards him all the time. His profile says he is between the age of 16-20. My guess it is at the lower end of that scale, as he is a student. Ease up on him a little I say. Maybe he asks the same question over and over, because no-one is ever anything but negative towards him.

Just in case he reads this post here a few websites he can check out

Believe me, these websites have been given to him many times! I don't think it's immaturity on my part to ask that the forum is not clogged with redundant posts! I would EXPECT someone to let me know if I was being annoying. I am a huge fan of CO being from Houston, and have an interest in their future plans, but I don't ask what new routes they're gonna start from here every week. Nor do I constantly ask what airlines are gonna start service at IAH. This has nothing to do with the fact that I'm older or more mature, rather that I know if I ask a question, and nobody responds, it's probably because nobody has the answer. I would expect that anyone with internet access would know how to download pertanent sites, so I'm definitely giving him the benefit of the doubt. These are not obscure sites he needs to look for. I'm sorry if you think I'm being rude, because I think it's great that he has a love for aviation. But, I have to question his intent at this point, because I think he may revel in his ignorance. Maybe he just wants attention, so this will be the last time I post any sort of response to his queries. Oh well, good luck YWG777, and please save the sites Brissie lions posted for you above, and read them before your next Air Canada or YWG question this week!

I didn't mean you were being immature (sorry if you took it that way). What I meant by being a bit immature is the original posting to his question, or any like that. I too don't want a clogged up forum. Hopefully the sites I have given him will help him somewhat in the future.

Hey buddy, I am an Aussie and as thick-skinned as they come. No offence or intent of rudeness taken at all

Let's just hope he reads this and thinks in future before asking the same question over and over. I can honestly say I have not noticed it in the past, as I usually only look at threads which are of interest to me personally, or those which I think I can make a contribution too. In fact, the only reason I looked at this thread was because QF will be starting services to Canada in its own right, otherwise I would have not even bothered looking at it.

By the way, any new airlines starting services to Australia?

Qantas To Vancouver And Toronto

Sat Mar 18, 2000 6:28 pm

Read recently that QF will return to YVR on 1st July with flights through HNL. The carrier will also serve Toronto (Y??) from HNL, I imagine beginning around the same time.

And one of Air Canada's commuter carriers just began service to Toronoto from several US eastern & midwestern cities, such as Albany, Louisville, etc.

So I guess there are some new Canadian routes!
