Hi folks,

Beech 1900C N91YV cn UC-91 is currently ferrying St.John's to Santa Maria across the North Atlantic.

Might be of interest to someone.

Cheers,

Saw it at BGR Thursday or Friday night with another B1900. Looked like it was wearing old United Express colors possibly Great Lakes Airlines livery. Most likely being ferried by Denny Craig or one of his associates. He comes through often with old B1900c's and d's bound for Europe and Africa.

'YV' is Mesa Airlines. I was based in BGR back when Mesa crashed two 1900D's in the winter in two consecutive years..!! Stalled on climb out with the first, and hit a deer right at Vr for the second. Thank God no one was seriously hurt. I also rememeber back when FDX Feeder was moving Shorts 360's over the pond in 1997. Now that's a feat..! Unpressurised and limited to 10,000ft...!!! At least the 1900 can get higher and go faster.

Forget my ignorance, but what is the purpose of the trip? Is it a Repo flight to a new owner?

Ugghh, that can't be fun flight for anyone involved. I'd hate to be in a Beech 1900 flying around those strong North Atlantic storms.

Forget the N Atlantic storms. My rear end would be like a block of wood on fire by the time I got across in that aircraft. And I would be surprised if my legs would hold up to walking off the aircraft once there.. Smile

Being a Beech 1900, there probably isn't a lav on that aircraft either. And it's not like you can just stop somewhere in the mid-Atlantic to take care of things  Confused
