Has Anyone Heard Of New Startup Oneida Airlines?

Sat Mar 18, 2000 10:34 pm

They're supposed to be flying RJs out of Syracuse, NY. They've just delayed startup until October. I was hoping to find out what equipment they;ll be using -145s? CRJs? Dare I think it... 328JETs?

Here is their site. Hopefully it will answer your questions. I've everything from this being real, to someone's imagination (virtual airline)

It's definitely a real airline. They're going to start service to Rochester, so our local newspaper keeps crowing about them.

Oneida Air - even the name doesn't sound real!
Fleet plans for Regional Jets, 717s, 737-700s and 767 by the end of the year!
Here is their route plan for December(9 months from now, but pre-delayed startup)

If this airline is serious, the plans appear so over-ambitious and ill thought out that Oneida Air won't be around for long.

Hi

I've visited their website and there plans are ambitious, however the)airline sounds good if it can get up and running. I also e-mailed them for some safety cards and they've added me to a VIP list and said I should get some sent to me by the end of the year.

Regards

Just looked at their requirements for pilots. 5000TT, compared to United (and most major airlines) at around 1500TT.
